Education and Training
Dr. Vitolo graduated from Brown University. While maintaining a high standard of learning and education, Dr. Vitolo also preserved a competitive edge by actively engaging in football at the collegiate level. During this time, he severely injured his ACL. This experience, coupled with his avid passion for medicine, sparked an even greater fascination with Orthopedics and sports related injuries.
He went on to obtain his post baccalaureate from Columbia University and earned his doctor in medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After completing his general surgery internship at Rutgers University Medical School, Dr. Vitolo went on and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Realizing his desire to specialize within the field of Orthopedics, Dr. Vitolo proceeded to complete a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the University of Massachusetts.

Having both Board Certifications means the doctor has specialty knowledge and is current on new advances in medicine. Dr. Vitolo is currently the only orthopedic surgeon in Sussex County with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine.

What to Bring To Your First Appointment
- Valid Driver's License or form of ID

- Worker's Compensation information, (adjuster name and phone number and claim number)
- Referral Forms (if applicable)
- Previous Health Records
- List of current medications
- A pair of shorts if your problems pertain to the knee, leg, ankle, or foot
- Any x-rays, MRIs, test results, medical notes or previous operative report to your current problem
